Hey Y’all! Happy Thursday! Pull up a chair, grab your energy drink and let’s chat about some easy projects you can tackle this weekend.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had one of those weeks where the motivation tank is running on empty. (Raise your hand if you’ve stared at the laundry pile and decided it can wait until tomorrow). But here’s the thing — just because we’re tired doesn’t mean we can’t find a little fun and creativity to sprinkle into the weekend.
I’ve been looking around our new home lately and, honestly, it can feel overwhelming. There are always a million projects swirling around in my head, and I start wondering when and how long it’ll take to actually get to them. (Spoiler: never as soon as I hope.)
We’ve spent years renovating and redoing spaces, and while I truly love it, I also want to enjoy the season we’re in — especially with a new baby on the way. So, I pulled together a list of DIYs that you can actually finish in a weekend. They’re quick, they’re impactful, and they don’t require tearing down walls or breaking out the power tools.
Sometimes these little changes can make the biggest difference.
1. Swap Out That Old, Dingy Cabinet Hardware
One of the fastest updates that packs a big punch is changing out cabinet hardware. Kitchen, bathroom, dresser drawers — it works everywhere! We’ve got brushed brass pulls sitting in a box right now, just waiting to go on our kitchen cabinets. You can also grab matte black or even a fun vintage set from Etsy. Amazon is where we got ours.
And check out Hobby Lobby, y’all. Their knobs look just like Anthropologie’s… but without the “my wallet is crying” price tag.

2. Create a Gallery Wall
No need to splurge on fancy art to make a statement. Print your favorite photos, grab some affordable frames off Amazon, and play around with an arrangement in your hallway, above a console, or as a living room focal point.
And get creative with it! Old newspapers, pretty wrapping paper, or even a page you tore out of a book you loved (don’t worry, I won’t tell the librarians). Sometimes the unexpected stuff makes the best wall art.

3. Refresh Your Front Door Color
A little paint can go a long way! Pick a fresh, vibrant color (primer might help too, depending on your door), and give that front door a new life.
It’s like lipstick for your house — a quick swipe of color, and suddenly the whole thing feels pulled together. While you’re at it, pop some flowers on the porch and you’ll feel like Joanna Gaines is about to swing by for an afternoon visit.

4. Update Those Throw Pillows
Sometimes the easiest refresh is right on your sofa. Swap out pillow covers for new textures and colors — you’d be surprised what a difference it makes! Many pillows have zip-off covers, so check what you’ve already got before buying new inserts.
I like mixing sizes for that cozy, layered look — try a combo like 24x24, 20x20, and a lumbar. (Trust me, it looks designer without being fussy.) And if you’re handy with a sewing machine, you can whip some up yourself.

5. Add Window Boxes for Instant Charm
Nothing says charm quite like window boxes. My favorite place in the world is Charleston, and if you’ve ever been, you know those flower-filled boxes are everywhere.
Buy the boxes ready-made or build your own if you’re feeling a little extra ambitious. (Fair warning: this may require bribing your husband with a Home Depot trip and a Chick-fil-A milkshake.) Either way, fill them with seasonal flowers, and your curb appeal will instantly jump about 10 notches.

The bottom line? You don’t need a workshop full of tools or a major renovation to give your home that “wow” factor. Sometimes the small projects are the most fun — and the most satisfying.
Now, who’s ready to grab some paint and make the neighbors wonder what you’re up to this weekend?
